TRI-COUNTY RECEIVES COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

 

The Tri-County (AL) Chapter supported the 14th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast held on Monday, January 21, 2013, at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Leeds, Alabama. Over 200 guests were present to celebrate this n...ational holiday. The group was welcomed by Ms. Tamara Graham, Leeds City Schools Board Member. Ms. Christine Williams, president of the Alabama State University Alumni Chapter, introduced the Reverend Cromwell Handy, pastor of the historic Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church who gave a passionate and informative charge to the audience. Leeds City Councilman Mr. Kenneth Washington received the 2013 C.L.E.A.R Award.

The Tri-County (AL) Chapter was presented with a Community Service Award for services rendered to Leeds High School students through the chapters AVID/Shape the Green Wave Umbrella Program.
